Ladies, I’m here to make a public service announcement. You know those ads for the super cute, ridiculously cheap clothing you’ve been seeing all over Facebook? Well, chances are, they are being sold by scam websites and those clothes aren’t what you think they are. Think about it for a minute. If one website is selling a dress for $70, how would another one be able to sell the same exact dress for $8.50? In many cases, these ’boutiques’ will steal images of products from reputable websites and manufacture cheap, look-alike clothing, selling them to unsuspecting victims. In other scenarios, they have failed to send products at all, blatantly stealing money from consumers. More and more people are catching on to these scams, and various groups have started popping up all over Facebook, in which customers are able to vent their frustrations. Knockoff Nightmares, SCAM ALERT, and Rosewholesale Scam are a few of the more popular ones that I’ve seen. I know that personally I’ve been conned by several of the ’boutiques’ on this list, whether it was the heinous quality of the garment, the size discrepancy, or the fact that they sent me a completely different product. So, without further a due, I present to you a comprehensive list of clothing boutiques to stay FAR, FAR away from.

As you can see above, none of the products that were actually sent to the customers looked anything like the product that had been advertised online. Many of these online ’boutiques’ are run by the same group of people, sadly. This leads me to my next point. Can I trust ANYONE on the Internet? Is online shopping even safe? Of course it is. You just have to be cautious and remember you get what you pay for; and we want QUALITY clothing, not quantity! The following list contains several legitimate boutiques that I have ordered from in the past, and had pleasant experiences with.

The bottom line is that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. A rule of thumb is that if the ’boutique’ has photos of models with their faces cropped off – it’s likely another scam business. If you’ve found yourself prey to one of these scams, make sure to spread the awareness to all of your friends, and/or leave a review on one of the following trusted sites: SiteJabber or TrustPilot in order to warn others.
