Note from chief editor: Hey guys! I know this isn't our normal/typical fashion post, but I noticed what an awesome thing Macy is doing! So without further ado, please read this article, and check out the original post on her blog and the rest of her clothing line on Etsy! -Ashwini
Shop Maysea
The plan was that this year I would start my “mini-business” -Maysea, after I started up my blog (check). Since I got the start-a-blog thing completed, I thought it was time to start the “business”. It’s not technically a business but, I am selling stuff and I made a name for it so, hey- that’s good enough for now.
“Maysea” is going to be selling t-shirts for now, that have a simple design on them (as seen below- a little pineapple), and then part of the proceeds are going to go to help with local ocean conservation (specifically endangered sea turtles). What I really wanted to accomplish in this is to start-up a “business” this year, while helping a cause that I think is deserving. So, since I grew up very close to the ocean- I thought that a perfect cause would be to help with endangered sea turtles & overall ocean conservation. I did some research, and found out that sea turtles (the Hawksbill Turtles) are actually the number one endangered sea animals. I’m hoping that in selling my tee’s, I can help out a little with raising money with ocean conservation, and more specifically the endangered sea turtle.

I really got this idea from when I was shopping at Lush (that place IS amazing). I saw this product they were selling called “charity pot”, the concept of the product was that for every lotion they sold, they would give to the charity that you got to personally pick out (it was pictured on the lotion pot). You can check out what exact Lush product I was talking about, here: Lush Charity Pot. Again, I really loved this idea because the shopper can pick out which charity they want to give to (making it feel personable), while getting a great lotion and helping out with a great cause. So, I thought that idea was pretty cool and decided to do something similar to that but put my own spin on it.
So, below are the Maysea t-shirts! I am selling them via Etsy currently, and there’s limited stock. Again, part of the proceeds are going to help with ocean conservation/ saving the sea turtles, so feel free to check out these casual but cute tee’s below! (available in 4 different colors)
